I'm kind of on the same boat as drag.

Don't get me wrong, Battlefield 3 looks absolutely amazing and it's the offers the diversity in action and the destruction I wanted in CoD but never got. But ultimately, I feel like the concept of THE USA VS TERRORISTS is slowly becoming like the new WWII genre of FPS's, story wise. There's only so much I can take of TERRORISTS WITH NUKES, or THEY'RE ATTACKING NYC (again) before the inner movie critic in me starts to says, "Shit is getting old. The action scenes are cool but forgettable, the plot is sort of like a Micheal Bay film, and the characters are so 2D a piece of paper has more character than it."

I'll be coming back home on Thanksgiving break (it's short, only 4 days) and only game I intent on playing is the Halo CE remake that I preordered and will be waiting for me, unopened, in my old room. Battlefield 3 and/or MW3 can wait till Christmas.

Well dang, I will be making a clan on mw3/bf3 on the box, whenever you guys get one or both you can join. Going to be doing gamebattles.

So far ign and joystiq both say the campaign is a bit of a mess but the multiplayer is great

I'm surprised they even bothered with Single Player tbh. BF has always been strongly centered on MP. There's never been a strong focus on single player at all. The closest was the BC seies and that was pretty flat too.

I pretty much agree with that BF3 score. I will be getting it, but just because I need a decent fps this winter and I am passing on mw3.

Also something funny about the BF3 review, the reviewer says the SP "is cliche; you encounter wmds, plots against new york, and of course, Russians". Wait til they give MW3 a 10 for having the best single player ever.
