So yeah I set up bootcamp on my mac and installed a windows partition. Then installed steam, gonna download a bunch of free to play games that I couldnt get before.

Any you guys would recommend.

I just PM'd you a BETA code for Planetside 2.

1. Go to www.PlanetSide2.com and enter your key.
2. Go to www.PlanetSide2.com/download and login with your Station name and password.
3. Download Launchpad and run/install.
4. Login with your Station name and password to start downloading.
5. When download is complete, press Play

Not sure how well it'll run on your system since it's a BETA but it's worth a shot.
Also, Tribes Ascend and Blacklight are great. Tribes is really tough to learn but stick with it and it'll click eventually.

It's...a big game to say the least. Even as a Beta, it takes up nearly 8 gigs. And as a Beta, it gets constant updates that either changes major gameplay mechanics, adds new music or sound or adds new textures and so on. When I first started playing a few weeks back, falling through the map was nearly a garuntee at some point. Now it looks miles better, is a lot more stable and plays way better. Updates could be anything from a few MBs to a gig in size.
Also, pick the EU1 server and pick Vanu. We have lasers and need more men.

Word of warning, they just added a new continent and the game is a bit screwy at the moment. Before the new "map" you had a few US and EU servers to pick from and you'd then join the game. But when they added the map, they only added it to one US and one EU server. So you would join the server and at the Warpgate (main base) there's a monitor that lets you jump to either continent, the first one or the new one.
What's happened though is a huge imbalance. You have three factions, the Vanu, the NC and the TR. Somehow the NC overpopulated the new map and control 99% of it. And on the first map, the Vanu and TR fight for dominance with very few NC. With the NC controlling most of the new Map, they gain huge amounts of resources granting them better upgrades much faster. Also, Servers are saying they're full when they're not.

But Beta is Beta afterall, it'll probably be sorted very soon with some kind of population cap and rearranging the resource's on the map and how fast they're earned. The game is constantly changing. It's hardly recognisable from a month ago.

The big decision for you will be what faction to stick with. I went with The Vanu, who are more or less science driven with the idea that knowledge and technology is the way forward.
